Yep! We taught our daughter simple signs bc we read that it helped reduce frustration. She learned very fast.

we did this with my son it helped a lot when he wasn't able to speak yet. he speaks now but sometimes throws signs in still. Ms. Rachel teaches a lot of sign language in her programs.

Yes, but the problem is that it may delay speech much longer than expected because if they get used to signing and aren't deaf they will likely prefer to sign rather than to speak. I noticed this with a friend who had their kid watch a show that taught sign language at a very young age.

I taught a lot of young toddlers how to sign!! You don’t even realize how beautifully smart these babies are!! ❤️

I did the Baby Einstein sign language videos with mine at that age, and they learned how to sign! I loved that Baby Einstein series, it was great.

I did this with my second baby. It was so nice being able to communicate with him and caused a lot less tears.

Babies motor skills develop before their language skills so teaching them sign is more practical than you might think

Babies put their fingers in their mouth when they are hungry. No need for this

This is not babies learning sign, this is parents not knowing enough about babies. Babies spend their first year trying to understand what their hands are and so they are constantly opening and closing their fist.

Yes! Same with potty. Like the “elimination communication” method. Just create a pattern as long as there is an incentive, any animals will learn to predict. Same as markers in dog training. not sure“sign language” but babies can definitely do simple predictions like this!
