My ex was excellent at this process. If she dropped something she always stopped, walked the side of the item, and would politely call out, “Jackass, are you blind? Can’t you see I dropped something? Are you going to stand there all day like some freaking moron or are you going to pick it up?” Sometimes it worked, sometimes she got a punch to the throat. It all depended on when I last took my meds.
