That's how homeric epics were spread Sitia, Crete 🇬🇷 📽️x_karidis

According to Plato in the Republic, Pericles' teacher Damon said: "when fundamental modes of music change, the fundamental modes of the state change with them."

Amazing painting. But I believe that's more classical-period-inspired while I was thinking of the archaic period and prior...when the bards roaming the lands and cities before the poems (songs) were written down and studied etc

_ 'Cretan laouto' [lute]. Four double-courses (strings) tuned in 5ths — course pairs tuned to octaves. Think "bass mandolin" essentially.

What is the name of the music ?

"Σαν μου πληγώσεις την καρδιά" is the name of the song. Is a traditional cretan slow "Syrtos" (type) if I'm not mistaken.

This is beautiful

And note that the language is the same that the homeric epic poems were written.

Is Greek alright, yes. But homeric greek was not a spoken language but a literary language used specifically for epic hymns and poems (unifying different greek dialects as ionic, doric, aeolic, arcadocypriot etc) in order to be more accessible to all i believe.

@Neokoros22 Beautiful!

@Neokoros22 I'm glad you like it
