That's how modern exploitation works.💔🇿🇦

Ppl think Shoprite employees only work on shops 😂. There’s a whole IT floor working on checkers 60. There are operational teams and call centers. They get paid really well. Back in the day we believed “in just getting in the door”. My first job I was getting 4000 a month. But because it was a big company, I saw my future. Shoprite is a massive operation. Just because you only interact with tellers you think that’s all the employees. There’s very high paying roles in there.

I hear you brother.

Shoprite strive on exploiting workers

Eish

🤔

@grok what's your input?

Shoprite's FY2026 revenue hit R275B, trading profit R16B and net profit ~R8B. Staff costs already top R21B for ~170k employees. Entry pay averages above national minimum (~R6k/month). A broad R5k floor would add billions in costs, pressuring thin 6% margins, prices or jobs. They create thousands of roles yearly plus employee trust payouts. High CEO pay exists but scale and competition set the market.

ANC really failed this country I dont understand why ppl still support them .

Slavery is still much alive

💀

You can go open your own shoprite and earn R87m if that R4k isn't enough as a merchandiser.

Reasoning like this is actually very annoying. I get the part of feeling for the general worker... but this is not how business works. Manegrial level is hired for their brains, expertise and experience. The casual worker at Shoprite is merely compensated for their labour

So sorry my 👦🏽 learn and go to school 🏫 school is the only chance we have as a young black child. He sounds like a politician loading. Call your stupendous politicians, thank the ANC BOETA, stop blaming other people bruv.

We have to chose a struggle..If shoprite shutsdown, jobs r lost the economy suffers... im going 2need BLACK SA to stop the bellyaching..If there is a problem identified here, start ur own shoprite & compete this 1 out of the market..We cant keep being perpetual victims crying

South Africa must build their own company dismantle the extraction and embrace the sovereignty in ZA

You tell us then, how can they can change their minimum wage into a higher a higher rate. All that he did was to state facts and not once has he said anything about boycotting Shoprite, but since he isn’t solution oriented and you are, please tell us what they should do.

This post feels a bit targeted at white CEO's. Now do a comparison between Patrice Motsepe's salary, shares and dividends vs the miners that work for him. And how about Sim Tshabalala, Mary Vilakazi, Ralph Mupita, Kenny Filha, Fani Titi???

We thought foreigners are the only one who get less salaries because they are cheap labor Citizens as well they are getting less salaries Not even 6k monthly this is to bad

I would not take two taxis to a low-end job but i would take a local low-end job and use the money to upgrade myself. Well in a nutshell it is the story of my life. We all start somewhere.

EFF advocate for standard minimum wage in every sector, and DA says business should decide minimum wage. Guess who will majority of South Africans vote for? DA. Sometimes we are our worst enemy.

Someone said work hard on yourself to achieve your dreams or Someone else will hire you to make their dreams a reality

lol How much is he supposed to get paid?..he's a ceo running Africa's biggest retail...that sir says a lot about him, those employees should build themselves, he also started somewhere

CEOs of 90% of multinational companies and banks are non South African, explains why companies like Coca Cola, Rama etc had no issues with foreign owned Spaza shops. They are milking us via the state that buys from them and workers who are frustrated will never vote ANC out

The problem is we assume jobs are meant to build us. Jobs are meant to take from us while building the top of the food chain. DO NOT think the same people who’ve been extracting from our country for centuries have stopped. They just find clever ways to do it now

With R3800 which business can you start? Iyooo the 1st guy killed it 🔥🔥

Thanks bro you're well educated

bro needs to just learned now why there is 1 ceo and 1000s of low level employees 😂

What does department of Labour says

But why like really why 🤔

Laze langdina ke lena phuya at the end.

Capitalism doesn't work for everyone and if you think about it, it's not meant to

@Shoprite_SA umnqundu

"Sorry if I got the name wrong " I bet you can't even name just 1 shoprite employee

Unfortunately the Black elites in the ANC SACP and the Unions have made it possible and worse for capital to enjoy these amount of life out of the sweat and slavery of our people and is business as usual So dont exclude them they part of the problem

Once upon a time there was a black workers Union that said it will get rid of labour brokers, until they became the owners of those Labour brokers companies and they forgot about that promise

I doubt if they even get bonuses yhooo
