A small pro-Israel group tried to hold an event in Australian celebrating the pager attacks against Hezbollah. SBS News immediately went to Lebanese Muslim Association spokesman Gamel Kheir to express his outrage: “The Lebanese suffered from this atrocity.” “What they're celebrating was the massacre of innocent people,” he told SBS News. “How is this even legal? How are politicians not talking about it? And more importantly, the right-wing media, which is so vocal when it comes to Islamic issues, their silence is disturbing.” While I think it’s dumb to hold events like this in Australia, I also think it’s insane that he pretends that the pager attacks were a massacre of “innocent people.” At least 1500 Hisbollah fighters were injured in the attacks as well as senior Iranian regime operatives. It was one of the most targeted military operations in history. Seems like Gamel Kheir sympathises with a foreign terrorist organisation and he’s sad that they lost. Amusing that SBS News had this guy on to talk about “social cohesion.” Lebanese Muslim Association Secretary Gamel Kheir previously did his best to support Australian social cohesion by defending the two Islamist extremist nurses in Sydney who threatened to kill Jewish patients: “I won’t condemn them as individuals. Has anybody checked in on their mental health?” He just defends his in-group (Lebanese Islamists) and attacks his out-group (Jews). Pure tribalism.
