1. He didn't know Ahsoka even existed when he sent Sabine out there. 2. He said it like a "Oh, good thing we did that, now we have the advantage." 3. Distraction wasn't the main focus. Ezra, Sabine and Ahsoka would've been trapped together, & killed between Baylan, Shin & troops.

I agree. Something is off with Ezra.

Here's where I would push back on this theory: 1. Thrawn and the Mother's did not know Sabine was coming, they called it a "loose thread" 2. At that time, they also didn't know about Ahsoka, so a plan of using Ezra as bait just for a 'prisoner Sabine' would make no sense

What if Baylan is actually good... And he helps everyone in the end. Would be a perfect counter weight to this theory.

Hope you see this, I’ve got a different take on Ezra and those blue eyes. Lol, the more I watch it the more I think Ezra was pulling his punches on the power stuff. He is hiding his powers and was trying to do less than what he demonstrated on Rebels, Ezra was strong in the force on Rebels. I’ve got a loose theory on Ezra, Have you noticed how blue Ezra’s eyes are? It’s way more than normal human blue eyes, it’s almost glowing blue. And it looks like there are stars in his eyes. Then go look at Ahsoka’s eyes, they are almost exactly the same as Ezra; same kinda very bright blue, almost glowing, looking like there are stars in their eyes. I think this is a sign of a Celestial. We know how Ahsoka became one in Mortis. But how did Ezra? We know Ezra is a magnet for powerful darkside places, being on Peridia for a while now; if the Son, the font, and the pool are on Peridia we all know Ezra would have found it already. I think Ezra has long past already found the Son, found the pool, and the font. I’m thinking the last time Thrawn saw him he may have been close to death; which is why he tells her your friend may be dead. Now if this is correct, it means it not the Son calling Baylan; it’s probably Abeloth. Who I believe was sealed hear as it’s basically a prison planet for everyone on it. But Abeloth is physically sealed here, until the Son died last of 3 who sealed her dying allowed her to physically return, this is what Thrawn and the Sisters are fleeing from. He came looking for the font of power hoping it would help, then he started calling darksiders for a new body when it didn’t help and that is what Sidious was sensing but couldn’t find. Ezra finds a dying Son, basically in the same state as his sister was in Mortis as she was almost dead; and Ezra is about to or does die in the same place he finds the Son. Anakin shows up, because he has been monitoring the Son since he died as Vader and returned to Mortis, he sees someone finally show up and thinks Ezra’s perfect knows Ahsoka - so Anakin manifest there and does the force technique the Father taught him to save Ahsoka; but uses the son dying spirit to resurrect Ezra. Then disappears. It’s also why the WBW gave Ezra access bc as it’s outside of time, Ezra has always been able to access it, knowing what he’d become. It’s why it let him in. However, once Ezra wakes up again he discovers the font of Power and Pool of Knowledge and is drawn to it; but decides not to drink or swim in it. Having a bad feeling. Long story short, Ezra has already become a celestial. He too like Ashoka has not ascended so to say because they haven’t jumped in the pool or drank from the font yet. But like I said it’s a long shot because the only thing I’m going on here is from Ahsoka with the context of what happen in Rebels & CW; and that’s basically Ezra and Ahsoka have the exact same Starry glowing blue eyes. That’s only relevant because when they describe Abeloth they say it looks like tiny stars in the pit of her eyes. I’m suggesting that it’s not about their eyes being blue that’s the color they are from the cartoons; it’s the glowing and starry looking blue that marks them as celestials, and thus they have the potential to be the future daughter and son. So if this true; that is why Ezra is hiding his power and why he is pulling his punches. It is interesting, he is wearing red looking shirt, not a Jedi color. But matching eyes and a red shirt isn’t enough pieces to build a likely theory on.

Here’s another reason why I agree that this is not the real Ezra: One thing that stood out to me was the fact that we’re meant to believe that Ezra is hiding out for 15 years, living the life of a hermit crab (with snail-creatures)? I didn’t like when they did that to Luke in TLJ, but this one really doesn’t make sense. Ezra isn’t the hide-out type. He should be strong enough to sense Thrawn’s presence nearby & make a plan to kill him once and for all. There’s also something fishy about Ezra refusing to hold the lightsaber and only using force push in battle. Could there be something on the lightsaber that would sense a fake Ezra; preventing ignition of the blade?🤔
