Today，the World Coastal Forum 2025 Conference officially opened in Yancheng, China! 300 delegates from 36 countries and regions gathered in Yancheng to jointly discuss, build, and share the ecological protection and sustainable development of global coastal regions. The report State of the World’s Coastal Ecosystems was released at the opening ceremony, for the first time the report provides a systematic assessment of the distribution, changes, and key drivers of 13 types of coastal ecosystems worldwide，and provides priority recommendations for action. With the addition of new partners, the World Coastal Forum 2025 Conference partners has increased from the initial 15 to 25, further expanding its "international circle" and broadening the cooperation network. There is great complementarity in our development aspirations as adopted continentally in AU’s Agenda 2063, in the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals and in Saudi’s Vision 2030. We must look into deepening cooperation, placing development financing high on the agenda of Saudi-Africa cooperation, so as to seize the opportunities presented in these visions for economic advancement.
