Thanks to everyone who complained about this. The ombudsman suggested that the program was in fact "balanced" because after 2 hours of Dick Smith's uninterrupted lecture, a random listener, SimonHaC, happened to ring in with facts. Such utter garbage.

So two hours of pro-nuke anti-renewables Dick Smith was 'balanced' by Simon ringing in briefly. Such bullshit @ABCaustralia

That beloved award winning journalists are let go while fuckwits like Macca free reign tells me the ABC is no longer interested in facts under Murdoch offcast Williams

I will never understand how Macca keeps his job. He reeks of racism, misogyny and misinformation. But he’s a white male…

So the ABC has to rely on random listeners to phone in to provide balance. What utter nonsense.

The ABC sacked the wrong Macca…. Sarah McDonald is a brilliant talent. Macca on Sunday is a bone headed drongo.

ABC was in breach - as that was its program and @simonahac was not a guest on the program - he was a member of the public who called in spontaneously and who happens to be an expert. The Ombudsman is gobsmackingly wrong. Who will review the Ombudsman?

media watch needs to be media watched

The ABC Ombudsman's role is to resolve complaints at the lowest possible level. In this case the ABC Ombudsman couldn't get any lower. Macca's obvious bias against renewable energy isn't magically removed by people who call in .
