The real danger is the erasure of individual liberty and religious freedom in any region that becomes heavily Muslim, because sharia governs the relationship between Muslims and non-Muslims, and it enforces blasphemy norms either by law, as in Islamic states, or by fear and self-censorship everywhere else. By that measure, every single Islamic country on earth applies sharia. Not one of them permits full freedom of speech. Not one of them grants non-Muslims the same rights as Muslims.
