The placebo effect in the limit

reminds me of the concept and intention of vaccines, to induce an immune response

i had an insane spring alergy when i was young went to a Homeopathy doctor he asked me some random questions wrote some pills wich i just took a box off and the problem vanished for years and when it came back it was 2/10 what it was before

I knew James Randi. I helped start a think tank that was based out of his office, back in the early 2000s. Interesting guy. Fascinating conversations. And he obliterated Uri Geller's grift.

Always loved Randi’s explanations of it on stage. Miss this wonderful man ❤️

I remember seeing Richard Dawkins doing the Royal institution Christmas Lectures and thinking "I wish I'd had teachers like him as a schoolboy". He's a truly inspiring man.

It’s not absurd. It’s based on the belief that the body can cure itself (which is a fact) and thus tiny amounts are used to stimulate the healing process. Those who take this treatment vouch for it.

I take tiny amounts of lead every day, just in case I get shot.
