Actual sizes of countries due to the “Mercator-Effect” for all the people that get confused about why Greenland is not a continent. If you are new to this, google: “Mercator-Effect” or “Mercator-Projection” Mercator is a fantastic projection. People give it loads of hate, but it's actually brilliant. We just use it for the wrong things. Mercator was designed for shipping lanes. It correctly allows you to draw a straight line from one port to another, follow that line, and end up in the right place. In the age of sail, this was a fantastic invention. Unfortunately we use it for general mapping purposes nowadays... Which it's terrible for... But it was never designed for this purpose. Given that very few of us are navigating a ship nowadays... Winkel-Tripel or even Authagraph seem like a better option (though the latter is culturally alien to most of us).
