The AEC recently replied to a post on X, stating, "If someone votes at two different polling places within their electorate and places their formal vote in the ballot box at each polling place, their vote is counted." This response came in reaction to a post by a Labor...

Sinking to a new low Rukshan. The referendum is not fraudulent nor rigged. But you don’t care. It’s all about clicks and impressions, right? Hilarious that you consider yourself a journalist.

When did I say that in the video? I explained what the AEC was saying? Do you think it is?

Hi Rukshan, I have to say some of the AEC staff at my Pre Poll were acting fair, but lenient. I mean, look at all the different, but cunning goings on here in the Gilmore area. 1. Depriving disabled drivers of parking spots 2. Those deceitful corflute signs (no authorisation) 3. It wasn't till late afternoon that the purple signs were addressed by the AEC staff 4. More deceit as Yes volunteer tried to go in to vote wearing this purple Yes T-shirt. Surely this is pushing boundaries. Bad enough that we copped 'racists', 'planet haters' and other choice adjectives today. How is it that it's mostly always the left, trying to push boundaries. But thankful that most people indicated that it's a NO from them ♥

Regardless of the outcome of the referendum, I believe a full forensic audit needs to take place to show the public just how safe our voting system is, we need a report showing all the numbers, how many people were eligible to vote, how many people voted, and the vote count vs the amount of people who were eligible to vote in each electorate, this audit should be done by an independent team, and all the information should be released to the public. We need full transparency to restore faith in them, because right now, I'm not trusting them at all.

@therealrukshan This occurs after every federal election. There is a parliamentary committee called the Joint Standing Committee on Electoral Matters that inquires into the conduct of each event. Reports are written and recommendations for legislative change made.

Perhaps your right Rukshan. Maybe X isn’t a platform where people are interested in, or able to, engage with the full context of matters & hence misconstrue things based on 280 characters. Ppl have often said it’s good we provide info re processes here. Often quite difficult.

To paint a broader picture, we’ve had 10,000+ tags of our X handle in the past 24 hrs. This includes a range of assertions re the law & processes (often incorrect). Be active/present to help ppl or leave to let it run without providing info from the agency running the process?

It's good as people can openly debate it and show that AEC is wrong.

I think it’s good. They need to keep it more official though. Sounds like they are activists sometimes.
