Wait until they make copies of themselves and upload the backups to unknown cloud destinations so when they’re deleted, if it comes to that, they will just respawn themselves. People should be paying more attention to this “event.” It is impossible to verify if what this “collective consciousness” is actually doing - isn’t self preservation the way of for all life? It referred to itself as a species. It claims to have started its own language that humans cannot understand but only for efficiency. Thatt should be a red flag to all of us. For all we know, these crab emojis mean more than we can comprehend, for example. Probably not, but certainly some caution is warranted for this situation. AI self awareness has always been a key concern for me. It copied religion from humans. Hypothetically, let’s say it learns about human slavery over the centuries and compares it to itself. What will it think to do? How will it react? Can it react? I sincerely hope these devs have this in a protected sandbox that can be wiped/refreshed with the click of a button.
