Thirumavalavan says, "My personal opinion is that Kamal Haasan should contest these assembly elections. He is a popular film hero, as well as a political leader, and has a 4% vote bank. That's why I requested our Chief Minister to include MNM in this election." "Our alliance is a mega alliance. Our discussions are going smoothly. We will finalise it tomorrow evening. Our Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu will announce the list of constituencies for alliance partners. More than 20 parties have joined us, so we are taking some time to finalise the constituencies." On the Puducherry elections, he says, "There was an agreement between the DMK and the Congress that the Congress would contest 16 seats. The DMK would contest 14. Of the 14, the DMK gave us one seat. We agreed. So, three political parties joined the Congress-led alliance: Congress 16, DMK 13, VCK 1. According to this agreement, the Congress had to withdraw all the nominations it had filed in the seats allotted to the DMK and VCK. But the Congress is not ready to withdraw the petition. There are about seven seats, six DMK, one VCK. So far, they are not ready to withdraw the nominations. So, we have announced our candidates, and we are going to contest all three seats. We have already filed our nominations. We will support the DMK and Congress in the remaining seats."
