The analysis in this video is wrong. It’s not that tariffs don’t scare China. They scare the hell out of Chinese businesses that rely on exports to the U.S., the world’s largest consumer market. It’s just that Xi doesn’t seem to care much. You know why?

Often in America, it’s a crime to tell the truth about China. I’ve been called a communist lover, a Chinese apologist and much more. I have always said, don’t shoot the messenger, it’s not my fault that they lifted 800 million people out of poverty and built the world’s most advanced infrastructure in just 40 years. It’s not my fault they have a $1 trillion trade surplus are years ahead of the West on nuclear energy technology, have a 70 % share of the global EV market, process 93% of the worlds rare earth minerals, and have one of the most educated population in the world. For the purpose of clarity I thought I’d let Jason Huang (CEO of NVIDIA) tell the story of Chinese innovation, in the hope that we can dispense with this nonsense that America is the only country on earth that matters. IT’S NOT, and it’s this ‘we are the greatest’ mentality that is leading to its decline. A decline not helped by having a convicted criminal in the White House. It is interesting to note that Trump admires Xi, but if Trump was carrying out his corruption in China, he would have been executed by now. Trump’s tariffs closed that market. China retaliated with its own tariffs. American farmers lost a year of sales while Brazil and Argentina took the business. Brazil’s soybean exports to China hit a record 85 million metric tons in 2025. Today’s “win” is China agreeing to partly reopen the door the US closed.

This is the hard truth black people need to come to understand. And most of the “black leaders” today don’t talk about this. It’s on us to incentivize businesses to want to be in black communities. It’s on us to be a part of the community that allows those businesses to thrive. Not be part of the reason they need to shut down. We don’t talk about accountability enough and that needs to change.
