@JonHaidt I’m so glad that I was in middle school, high school, and college before cell phones came on the scene.

How to use your minds eye during anxiety attacks #health #mentalhealth #help #rt

@JonHaidt I’m sure all the school shootings and lockdown drills had nothing to do with it.

@JonHaidt It’s also one of the first generations taught that it is normal to have some mental health struggles and not a shame to hide from the world. We were crazy anxious too. We were just told to smile and not talk about it

@JonHaidt Your grandparents only had to worry about fighting the Nazis in Sicily.

I don’t subscribe to @JonHaidt's theories. It’s much better to work with the personal technology than to remove it. Prohibition comes with a cost and seldom is sustainable. There is also the “forbidden fruit” aspect, whereby taking something away or casting blame on an inanimate object makes it more desirable.

@JonHaidt Did he also do an in depth analysis of how the sun rising in the morning makes it easier to see outside? 🙄

@JonHaidt i’ve had high anxiety before we even had social media. but i can agree the screens with children have contributed

@JonHaidt I just think it's more to do with being lied to about overpopulation and irreversible climate change that's causing anxiety.

@JonHaidt Others wonder if the adult move to a phone-based Social Media has caused adult infantalism.

@JonHaidt Is it just the phones??
