People are angry that Sanwo-Olu didn’t push back on the Oba of Benin comments on the history of Lagos. How do you expect an Ogun state man to know Lagos History? Not Even his Principal Tinubu can trace his linage. The 2023 Labour Party gubernatorial candidate in Lagos State, Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour, popularly known as GRV, has been conferred with the prestigious chieftaincy title of "Obalefun" by the Ijo Olorisa Parapo royal elite circle in the Badagry Division of Lagos State. The coronation ceremony, which took place over the weekend, marked Rhodes-Vivour’s formal induction into the Omoluabi Royal Elite Circle, a revered cultural institution within the Yoruba traditional structure. Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour, who hails from Popo Aguda in the Lagos Island Division, comes from a lineage with long-standing historical ties to Lagos. The title "Obalefun," meaning “bringer of peace and joy,” not only celebrates his family legacy but also his contributions to the socio-cultural development of the state. In addition to the chieftaincy, Rhodes-Vivour was also inducted as a Peace Ambassador of the Ijo Olorisa Parapo.
