I’m angry, appalled and disgusted at this latest heinous attack on our Jewish community and the fact that Jewish people are having to live in a constant state of fear. I urge all Londoners to stand with our Jewish communities. Condemning antisemitism is not enough. We need to collectively fight against it, as we have in the past. The violent attack at Congregation Chasedei Bobov was a disgusting antisemitic hate crime. I want to thank Toronto Police for making a swift arrest. I also want to thank the congregation for welcoming me today and giving me the space to listen. Toronto is a city where everyone must be free to practice their faith and live without fear. An attack on one community is an attack on all of us. We all have a responsibility to stand against hate and I will always stand with Toronto’s Jewish community.
