A sudden rise in oil similar to where it hit $147 a barrel in July 2008 has all kinds of secondary effects in the economy and global liquidity. FoFty talked about that on his video today. The problem is, even if this large oil spike is temporary it will have economic effects that impact us in 30-60 days. The larger the spike, the more economic damage. However, the Trump administration has been clear they're going to give the Iranian people an opportunity to take back their own country. Trump has posted comments on Truth Social indicating this. During that period of civil unrest, US military action is halted. So what we could see is a dramatic drop in oil prices once that is announced and then a resumption of the price spike once it's declared that they're putting boots on the ground. Right now, it will take about 3 weeks to move enough US troops to Europe and prepare them to deploy in the middle of Iran with C-17s. In this scenario, European nations like France, Germany and UK will be joining in the operation. This period of calm could end in a massive escalation. This also explains why the Trump administration has drafted the legal framework to deploy the National Guard in 50 US states by April 2026.

I called it this morning. Maduro’s capture is going to hurt the Canadian economy. We are currently the world’s largest exporter of crude oil to the US. Trump just announced that billions will be invested in Venezuela, by some of the biggest US oil companies, to restore their infrastructure. That means that the US, now has another supplier. One that has the biggest oil reserves in the world. The Liberals, and their radical green agenda, including Bill C69, kept oil in the ground. They stopped pipelines from flowing East to West, and stopped the Keystone XL pipeline that Trump asked for in early 2025. The US has now taken the same advice they gave to Germany when they were too reliant on Russian gas: they diversified. And long term, if Canada doesn’t act fast, TODAY, we will be in big trouble economically. We can no longer wait. We need to extract our oil & gas, we need to make major investments, including sending our energy to Europe & Asia. Our leverage for CUSMA, is now at risk.

Now that President Trump has declared that the US is in control of Venezuela and that the US plans on taking back the oil, it makes zero sense for there to still be sanctions on Venezuela under the Trump administration. The sanctions were imposed by the Trump administration in addition to an oil embargo and sanctions on entities involved in Venezuela's oil and gold industries, including "shadow fleet" tankers evading sanctions, because of Maduro’s behavior. This is simply an outright lie. - Yes, Iran has supported Hamas, and Hamas obtained a lot of weapons from Iran. - No, the US did NOT give Iran $6 billion, and it certainly did not end up in the hands of terrorists. What really happened with the $6 billion. - The US unfroze $6 billion in Iranian money (Not US money or US taxpayer dollars). It was Iran’s money that was in South Korean bank accounts. The money came from oil sales that were put into accounts that were set up under the Trump administration. - The US allowed the money to be transferred to accounts in Qatar, without violating sanctions, in exchange for 5 US citizens getting to come home to their families. - The US has strict limits on how the money can be used, and it is NOT under the complete control of the Iranian government. The money is only permitted to be taken out in exchange for humanitarian purchase such as food, medicine, and farm supplies. The strategy is clear for Prime Minister Takaichi: she needs Japan to help with the Strait of Hormuz. They import ~70% of their oil from the region, and they cannot drop the price themselves. So the sooner they make a deal, the faster they will recover. They don’t even need to provide any technology, because the US military and surrounding players have that all covered. They just need to provide them the insurance - and I’m estimating it’s around $4B monthly - to keep the peace. Same goes for other countries heavily relying on oil imports from the region. Just imagine if China joins in? That would be a remarkable result!
