The atmosphere from Devil May Cry 1 is unmatched....

It's a shame we don't get the same vibe from DMC2 onward anymore. It's kinda there, but a lot less. DMC is the Ancient horror vs Action star with resident evil vibe. Itsuno is good at directing action side, but not so much at the atmosphere. Like, what if Urizen was scarier.

It really is a masterpiece, aside form og re4, nothing got even close to it in more then 2 decades

I was like 12 when I played that, and it was absolutely terrifying to me back then and then I learned that it was originally gonna be an RE and I was like ahhhhhhhh makes so much more sense now

Thank Resident Evil for that. Gothic Horror and they never brought it back fully.

The gameplay got better but the atmosphere got worse
