No Apology For Forming Labour Party – NLC President The President of the Nigeria Labour Congress, Joe Ajaero, has said that they owe no one any apology for forming the Labour Party. In an interview with Channels Television on Tuesday night, Ajaero stated that the party was created to enable regular Nigerians to run for office and win. He also noted that even Peter Obi, the party's standard bearer, is not a member of any labour organisation. Ajaero said in part, “We don’t have any apology for forming the Labour Party. It says a lot that despite Peter Rufai not supporting him in the past, it is Peter Obi who is showing up to stand with the family of the late Peter Rufai in their time of grief. They have deliberately distorted Mr Peter Obi's message, taken his words out of context, and spread falsehoods. This is a blatant attempt to divide our country and destroy our collective progress. Peter Obi's consistent message, both locally and internationally, has been clear: we must declare war on economic criminality, banditry, kidnapping, and corruption. He has emphasized that we are already at war with these enemies of Nigeria, not with any particular region or group. Mr Peter Obi expressed similar sentiments while speaking at a Rotary event on the 27th of this month in Awka, where he stressed the urgent need to address these problems, metaphorically calling for a war against insecurity, hunger, corruption, and economic woes. We urge the Federal Government to investigate and prosecute these agents of anarchy, who are hell-bent on destroying our country. We demand an end to their deceitful tactics and the promotion of hate speech. It's time to unite against those who seek to divide us. We possess all the evidence, including videos, to support Mr Peter Obi's true message. He has been consistent from the Chatham House event to the New Jersey Thank You Tour, and most recently at the installation of Rotarian Prof in Awka a few days ago as seen in the videos attached.
