The Austin Fire Chief needs fired for not dispatching the best swift water rescue crew in Texas !

He blames himself because he cares. They didnt know this storm would do what it did early enough to send the boats a day before. Unless I'm missing something

My question is why didn't the captain below the Chief ask his firefighters if they wanted to go help and if so why did he not just ignore that crap order and take his team to save lives? I know that the public would have stood by them and nothing would have come of it, other than outing the crap order to begin with. I don't want to hear some bs about following orders. Lives were at stake and that is what they are trained to do and you KNOW those trained rescuers wanted to go help. They should have told him to F off and gone to help.
