Video from here, the game is running through winulator (a WINE application for Android) on-device, with the pip-boy app running on the bottom screen.

Im surprised the app still works, kinda expected it to not be supported anymore.

You can't download the Pip-Boy app from the play store anymore & you have to find an APK and use an older version of Fallout 4 for it to work.

@Moe_12344 Wish they made a new version for 76. Would be a lot easier to switch to something or pop meds on the fly that way

@Moe_12344 That would be rad, 76 would benefit from it more than 4 because it's already realtime.

Phones are just locked down arm computers don't let them psyop you into thinking they're anything else

It's the performance with x86 games (using a low power ARM SoC) that impresses me the most. This game brought my computers to their knees 10 years ago running natively.

ARM gaming is the future, these devices can do this while emulating x84 imagine how good those games wouldn't perform natively.

It better be able to. It's got the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset & this is a game from over 10 years ago

The AYN Thor has a Snapdragon 8Gen2 but even that seems to be fast enough for this.

@Wr0zen It's like $350 what did you expect

Bitch it can run Witcher 3

if nintendo locked in and made a new ds

Fake video ad but a cool device nonetheless

I was not paid anything to make this tweet, I shared it because I think it's cool.

I meant the video itself is an ad for the device

@CrazyWeeMonkey An Ad implied the video was made because the user was paid to do so

@alexymik I don't think it's out of the possibility that the original person made it as an ad, but there's no way to know for sure.

@alexymik I mean he just said he wasn’t paid by them. What reason would he have to lie about it

@alexymik I wasn't paid but I don't know if the person who made the video was.

I'm so excited for ARM and RISC-V to become predominant forces

i might sell my steam deck to get one of these, love the deck but it’s not portable enough for me :( what version do you have? i’m seeing a bunch of different ones on the website

@ladygagaluverrr I don't own one, but from what I've read you want either the 12GB/16GB version to play Windows games with winulator.

Can it also ask Bethesda to make a good game that is not a technical embarrassment for modern gaming

using the pip boy app as the bottom screen is the coolest shit ever

I have got to get an ayn thor, but it's SOOOOO EXPENSIIIIIIVE 💔

I thought this would be like $700 when I first saw it but it's about half that, not cheap but pretty reasonable for what it is imo.

Which one did you get? There's several options for memory and storage.

I don't own one, the above video was posted on the Fallout subreddit. From what I've read online you want ≥12GB RAM for Winlator, and as 256GB of storage would be annoying I'm eyeing the 16GB+1TB model.

The Max model might be in my price range if I manage to save a little money.

Being able to access the pip-boy on the bottom screen easily, without being restricted to move in fallout 4, is one of the coolest things I've ever seen

Now go into the City how bad is it going to lag

The OP shared this video of it in downtown Boston (others asked the same question), FPS fluctuates wildly but it seems playable. There's an FPS counter in the bottom left corner of the top screen.

Damn I'm not going to lie the fact it's running that well in downtown Boston is fucking nutty

@CrazyWeeMonkey It's still weird seeing fallout 4 on what is essentially a game boy

@SoyunHDP777 @CrazyWeeMonkey you were ALMOST THERE MAN

@SoyunHDP777 @CrazyWeeMonkey Gonna be honest never had a DS

Dear God... I WANT IT

Gamehub Lite allows you to play your steam library on Arm devices! Results may vary, its still kind of early but some games work great, just need to tweak some stuff

fallout ds

I am more impressed that the Pip Boy app is still working

Is the bottom screen technically just running the companion app from launch? That’s super cool

AM I WATCHING AI?!!!!!

nope, it's real

Ayn Thor is so freaking dope! Probably the coolest emulation device ever. Got DS, 3DS, and WiiU all set up on mine (among many other emulators). Pairs great with Xbox Ally X and Switch 2. Didn’t consider doing Fallout 4 and the Pip-boy app together, but I think I’ll give it a go.

wtf need

I know this is 90% fake but I want one....

good news, it's real!

I need this. Anyone know which 'older version' of Fallout 4 you need?

Gotta admit, this is cool.

Never heard of the Ayn Thor but holy shit this is cool as fuck

so this is basically a superpowered DS? I'm sold.

This could have been Nintendo but they stay playing in our face 😭😭😭

Holdup this is fire

What is that thing?

One of the only uses I can think of for these new wannabe-DS handhelds.

What the FUCK!?!??!?!?!

@das75c

I love that the pipboy can always be kept open that way
