The BBC has broadcast a 37 minute documentary and lengthy article about Vanessa, a preacher who last year was ordered to pay £350 for sending abusive messages to 'Jay'. Why so much coverage? Jay reveals she is a 'trans man' who initially turned Vanessa down 'because I'm gay'

Jay told the BBC that Venessa was posting pornographic content on Jay's social media, which left her 'scarred'. Presumably no-one at the BBC bothered to check what Jay had posted on social media, as tweets like this would have been found

Jay was one of my earliest hounders & publicly lied about me.

From what I can remember of her posts generally, she was extremely aggressive, dishonest and sometimes sexual. Very likely there's more to the stalking story than the article and podcast suggest

This was on the BBC radio news this morning. Wife and I both looked at each other and said, ‘which bit of this have they missed out?’…… Thanks for filling in the gaps.

Groan… I can’t be arsed listening but is Vanessa an actual woman? Also I must note, File on 4 was (only a few years ago) the absolute peak of public service investigative journalism

Yes, Vanessa is a woman. She's also black, and accused Jay of racism, although that's barely mentioned in the podcast. There's also claims in the podcast and the article that are poorly covered, like this about Vanessa booking a retreat that Jay was attending. How did she know?

So basically… the story is probably that a lesbian assumed that this ‘trans man’ was a lesbian too. The ‘trans’ identified woman turned her down, and then she freaked out because the lesbian happened to end up on the same retreat as her. Sounds like just another story of 1/

Aha, thanks for the context
