Thank you! We’re excited to bring Auday to Japanese users too! Japanese transcription already works locally on your iPhone. The remaining work is full Japanese support, including AI summaries and Highlights, which currently output in English or Chinese. We’re prioritizing this and will release full Japanese support within one month at the latest. Thanks for your patience and support!

Thanks for buying Auday! Recording your own thoughts for later reflection sounds useful. Japanese transcription already works locally. Since you mentioned Ultra, please check a short recording’s playback: some Ultra users are still reporting silent audio.

Sorry the short recording is silent too. Similar Ultra reports are under investigation; we can’t confirm the same cause or a fix yet. Please email [email protected] with your iPhone model and Auday/iOS/watchOS versions for a TestFlight invite to try a potential fix.

Thanks for sharing the setup. We’ve noted the device and OS details. If you try the TestFlight build, please let us know whether a short recording plays back with sound.

Thanks for testing both watches and following up! We're glad your Ultra 2 is recording with sound after updating to 1.0.1. The Series 11 noise comparison is helpful too. We appreciate you checking longer recordings and battery use; those real-world results help us improve Auday for all-day use. 🙌

Finally admitted Apple wearable technology is Spyware.

Hi Spartan! Thanks for sharing your thoughts. AI recording is already becoming a practical productivity tool. Companies are exploring recording cards, clips, pendants and wrist-worn devices to help people capture meetings, revisit lectures and organize ideas. Plaud alone reports that over two million professionals have adopted its products. There’s a real need here: spending less time taking notes and finding important information more easily afterward.😄 With Auday, we wanted to meet that need using the Apple Watch people already own, while keeping the core workflow local. Original audio, transcription and search stay on your devices. Even the recordings transfer directly between your paired Watch and iPhone through Apple’s WatchConnectivity framework, without going through an Auday server or iCloud. Further AI analysis is optional and connects directly to a provider you choose. We see real potential in these tools, and keeping people in control of their information is central to how we’re building ours.

No backend server + local processing is the exact right way to build this. Keeping data off a startup’s cloud and letting users bring their own API key completely solves the privacy bottleneck for AI wearables. Smart architecture.

Thank you, that’s exactly the thinking behind Auday! When an app holds your conversations, health context and everyday memories, privacy has to shape the product itself. We originally considered an AI subscription model, but that would have meant building an account system and routing people’s private content through our servers. We chose to remove both, even though it meant giving up that subscription revenue. Recording, transcription, search and storage stay on your devices—even audio transfer happens directly between your paired Watch and iPhone. For additional AI features, your iPhone connects directly to a provider you trust or a model you host yourself, using your own API key. Original audio stays local. One purchase, no new Auday account, no Auday subscription. We want to build something people can feel comfortable keeping close to their lives, and that trade-off is absolutely worth it to us.

Hi! Does this work with Gemini API? Mine is currently not seems to be working

Auday supports Gemini, and our testers have verified it working. Thanks for sharing the screenshot. We checked Google’s documentation and found an access update announced on September 18: Gemini 2.5 models are now limited to users who have actively used them before. This may explain why your selected model is unavailable. Here are a few things to try: 1. Confirm that your API key’s Google AI Studio project can access gemini-2.5-flash. You can also try gemini-2.5-flash-lite if it’s available to your project. 2. Under Model > Custom, you can manually enter the exact ID of another compatible model your project can access. 3. For an OpenAI-compatible service, select Provider > Custom and enter its API base URL, model ID and API key. For custom connections, we recommend choosing a non-thinking model for better compatibility with Auday’s current AI workflows. Custom configuration still requires model access and API compatibility. Then tap Check Connection & Save. If it still fails, please share your Auday and iOS versions, whether this is a new Google project, and which configuration you tried. Please keep your API key private. We’ll help you work through it!

tysm! i’ll give it a shot!

You’re welcome! Let us know how it goes. If you still run into any issues, we’re here to help! We’ve also submitted the next Auday update for App Store review, with major performance improvements and other fixes!

I’ve never used Gemini 2.5 on AI Studio, so that’s probably why its not working on my account.

I put an actual balance instead of gcp, and it started working! thanks for the help!

Great to hear it’s working now! Thanks for coming back with the update. We’d love to hear what you think of Auday as you use it!

huh, are u sure it is legal to record all day long convos with all ppl you meet and they dont know they are being recorded yet worse analyzed? :D

That’s an important question, Jiří. The same responsibilities apply as with other recording tools: follow the recording laws where you are, explain what you’ll record and how it will be used, including AI transcription or summaries, and ask the people involved for permission before starting. Auday doesn’t obtain that permission for you. If anyone is uncomfortable, respect their choice and stop. Auday shows a recording animation and “Capturing…” status in the Watch app, and watchOS also provides a microphone-use indicator. These make the recording status visible, but don’t replace that conversation or consent. “All-day” describes a recording capability; you choose when to start and stop. Keeping core processing local, without an Auday backend, protects how the data is handled. Respecting the people in the conversation is equally essential.

So now we are giving permissions to devices to monitor us for free? No, pay me upfront before I consent!

I understand the concern. We believe this can help us be more productive while preserving moments that matter. That concern is exactly why almost everything in Auday runs locally on your own devices—we don’t even have a backend server. Many of us already wear an Apple Watch to better understand our health. We’re exploring how it can also help us understand and remember our everyday lives. We’ve shared a few examples on our website that show what we mean. Hopefully, they’ll resonate with you:

I’m a user in South Korea using an iPhone 16 Pro (iOS 27.2) and an Apple Watch Ultra 2 (watchOS 27). However, when I play back the actual recordings, no audio has been recorded at all.

Sorry about the silent recordings, and thank you for the device details. We’re investigating this on Ultra watches. Could you email [email protected] with your Auday version and whether a manually exported audio file is silent too? That will help us narrow it down.

This looked really interesting, so I bought it from the App Store. Thanks for supporting Japanese as well! By the way, is there a way to stop or pause the recording?

You can stop recording whenever you need. Open Auday on your Apple Watch and press and hold the recording screen for about one second. You can start recording again when you’re ready. Thanks for giving Auday a try!

It worked! I think having a quick guide somewhere explaining these kinds of controls would make Auday even better. Keep up the great work, and thanks for making such a great product!

Glad that worked! No need to apologize; controls like this should be easy to find. A short guide to the Watch controls is a useful suggestion, and we’ve noted it alongside your feedback. We really appreciate the encouragement!

I like the coinceopt, i actually built something similar inspired on Apple’s implementation to avoid updagrading for the latest watched. But.. Heart rate is a weak signal for stress during a meeting, since caffeine, walking in late, or just talking can raise it. And honestly, I'm not sure it's that useful for what the app is for. I'd rather have a great summary of what was said than a guess at how I felt.

Hi Johnny! My interest in this came from using apps like StressWatch and Grow extensively. I’ve seen stress estimates shoot up during an intense meeting or an unexpected phone call, often matching how I actually felt. That made me see these signals as useful and fascinating clues. And Apple took a huge leap forward this September: more accurate heart-rate sensing and HRV measurements up to 24 times more frequent on its latest hardware. To me, that opens up exciting possibilities for connecting our conversations with what our bodies were experiencing. A faithful summary is still the foundation. In Auday’s agent-based workflow, body signals are supporting context, and you can tap your Watch to Mark the moments you consider important. This is just the beginning, and I’ll keep refining how those clues are interpreted and used. Since you’ve built something similar, I’d love for you to try Auday—I’m especially interested in what you find useful and where you think I could take it further.

Hi Derin! I think this is a conversation worth having. As AI becomes part of everyday life, it could help us remember, reflect and get things done—but the context that makes it useful can also be deeply personal. We wrestled with that while building Auday. Recording, transcription and search run on your own devices. We removed our account system and backend server. Further AI is optional: relevant text and context go directly to a provider you choose, while original audio stays local. That meant giving up the subscription model we’d originally considered, but reducing how much people need to entrust to us felt worth it. Local processing is part of the answer; what we choose to record and share matters too. I hope we can build AI that understands us better while keeping us in control of our private lives.

Hi! I'm interested in Auday and have two questions. 1. Can I automatically export the original audio recordings from my iPhone to iCloud Drive, Dropbox, or my Mac without manually sharing each recording? Does Auday support Shortcuts or automatic exports? 2. Are you planning to support Japanese (including transcription and AI features)? If Japanese support is planned, I'd love to buy Auday now while it's on sale! Thanks!

On Japanese: transcription already works locally, and we’ve submitted the update with full Japanese support for AI summaries and Highlights to the App Store for review. It’s coming soon! We’ve answered the automatic-export part in your follow-up too; that step is currently manual. Thanks for the thoughtful questions! 🙌

Why the final shot show an Apple Watch in a incorrectly position ?

Haha, you’ve got a sharp eye! We took a little creative liberty with the final shot so the Auday logo would look upright and be easier to see—a more natural wearing angle would have tilted it. A small trade-off for a clearer view! Thanks for watching so closely and for the support.

Those are exactly the concerns we’ve focused on solving through engineering and optimization. In our testing, Apple Watch Series 11 handled all-day recording on a single charge without any trouble. Storage has also been carefully optimized. In our comparison, 30 days of recording with Apple’s built-in iPhone Voice Memos app takes over 20 GB, while Auday uses just over 3 GB, keeping the full audio available for playback with good sound quality. We’ve put the storage comparison on our website if you’d like to take a look. We’d love to hear your experience if you give it a try!

Just purchased and thank you. Can use the Apple foundation model to be found on phone and Mac computers?

Thank you for buying Auday, John! We don’t currently integrate Apple Foundation Models for summaries or chat. Transcription runs locally on your iPhone; optional AI features use the provider or compatible endpoint you configure. We’ve noted your request for Apple’s on-device model.

Finally, a reason to actually use my Apple Watch 😂 Mine’s basically been a fancy bracelet. The price was right, so I grabbed it as soon as I saw this. I’ve recorded stuff on my watch before and tried a few AI gadgets, but somehow never connected the dots.

Thanks for trying Auday and sharing these details. We're sorry recording and sync have been frustrating. Version 1.0.1 is now available in the Japanese App Store with recording-transfer and sync improvements. If you're on an earlier version, please update. Could you share your Watch/iPhone models, OS and Auday versions, and what the Watch shows after manual sync? For the API issue, a screenshot of just the provider/model settings, with API keys and personal content hidden, would help us check why the selection returns to DeepSeek. We've also noted your request for a Japanese interface, beyond Japanese AI responses.

Thanks for sharing the workflow you’re building! Getting conversations into daily notes is a useful idea. We’ve focused Auday on local recording and transcription; which part of that workflow has been the trickiest to build?

Thanks! Great to hear that Japanese support is coming soon! I have one more question: I understand that audio recordings can already be exported manually. Is there a way to automatically export original audio files from the iPhone to iCloud Drive, Dropbox, or Mac without any manual操作? Or are there plans to support this through Apple Shortcuts or another automation method? My goal is a fully automatic workflow: Apple Watch → iPhone → Mac. Thanks!

Thanks for spelling out the workflow! We don’t currently offer fully automatic export from the iPhone to iCloud Drive, Dropbox or a Mac. Watch-to-iPhone transfer is automatic, but exporting the original audio from the iPhone is a manual step. We’ve noted your request for Shortcuts or automatic export so you can keep that whole workflow hands-free.

the apple watch already does that.

Hi! Yes—Apple’s Live Rewind shows the last 15 seconds of speech, and Siri Recap creates high-level conversation summaries. Auday goes further by keeping the original audio and full, searchable transcripts throughout your day. You can revisit the exact words and hear the voices again, rather than relying on what an AI summary selected. We also connect conversations with heart rate, stress, health and location. Combined with personal memories accumulated over time, these signals help Auday identify meaningful moments, connect experiences across different days, and offer more personal reflections. We’ve shared some more interesting examples on a look! They show what makes Auday different and why this combination opens up so many possibilities.

Fake

Auday is a real app available on the App Store for iPhone and Apple Watch. We’re happy to explain how it works—is there a particular part you’re unsure about?
No thanks. We goood.

All good—thanks for checking it out!

Para cuando en español?

We don’t have a confirmed release date for Spanish yet. Expanding language support is part of our plan, and we want to get transcription quality, performance and battery use right before releasing it. Thanks for your patience and for telling us you’re waiting for Spanish!

Thanks for reporting this—let’s work through it together. First, please check the Watch connection and sync status in Auday. Audio normally syncs about every 15 minutes, and you can also sync manually. Could you record about 30 seconds of clear speech on your Watch, stop, manually sync, and play the original audio on your iPhone? Please also check the playback volume and whether audio is going to Bluetooth headphones. It would help to know: Is the recording missing on iPhone, completely silent during playback, or audible but without a transcript? Your Watch and iPhone models, watchOS/iOS versions, and the language you recorded. What do the recording and sync screens show? Any errors, Siri use or phone calls during recording? A screenshot of the status would be helpful. That will help us pinpoint the stage where things went wrong and give you specific next steps.

Device: Apple Watch Ultra 2 + iPhone Air OS: watchOS 27.0.1 / iOS 27.0.1 Issue: Recorded clear speech on the Watch, synced to iPhone successfully (recording is visible), but playback is completely silent (volume maxed, no Bluetooth headphones). Watch has been restarted.

We’re now looking into the reports involving Apple Watch Ultra models. Could you help us confirm one thing? When you tap “Original audio” to play back the recording, is there no audible speech at all, or can you hear the voices but there’s no transcript? This will help us determine whether the issue is with recording or transcription.

@rrggwdbt I’m also using an Apple Watch Ultra 4. On the Apple Watch, Auday shows that it is recording normally. However, when I open the recording on my iPhone and tap “Original audio,” there is no audible sound at all — I cannot hear any speech or other audio.

Thanks for explaining this so clearly, and we’re sorry you’re running into it. We’re actively investigating similar reports, and these details are really helpful. Could you share your iPhone model, iOS and watchOS versions, and Auday version? Also, if you export the recording and play it outside Auday, is it silent there too? That will help us narrow down whether the sound is missing from the recording itself or whether something is going wrong during playback. Thank you for helping us get to the bottom of this!

In our testing, Apple Watch Series 11 handled a full day of recording on one charge. The Watch focuses on recording, while transcription and AI processing happen on the iPhone. We’ve also optimized audio compression and silence storage: our everyday-use estimate is just over 3 GB for 30 days of recordings, with the full audio preserved for playback. You can choose how long to keep recordings, too—older audio that has been successfully transcribed can be cleared while the transcripts and summaries remain.

Can it do transcripts of meetings or lectures and summarize the essential points?

Yes!—Auday transcribes meetings and lectures into text and summarizes the key points. What makes it different is the extra context. Most AI transcription tools identify key points from the transcript alone. Auday can also draw on your physical responses, location, health data, heart rate and stress signals. These provide additional clues to help it identify important moments that the words alone might miss. You can also tap your Apple Watch during a meeting or lecture to mark a moment and tell Auday, “Pay special attention to this part.”

recording every waking second on your wrist is the kind of thing that sounds great until you remember you exist as a human with thoughts you dont want replayed.

That’s fair, we all have awkward moments we’d rather not replay. You decide when to start and stop recording. If you do choose to reflect, Auday’s Daily Reflection can offer an outside perspective, help you notice patterns or things you could improve, and draw out lessons worth remembering. Sometimes an uncomfortable moment can become something that helps us grow, without having to relive every detail.

@auday_ai what about language support? For transcripts and highlights.

Auday’s on-device transcription model supports English, Mandarin, Cantonese, Japanese and Korean, with automatic language detection. To balance accuracy, performance and battery use, we’re prioritizing full support for English and Chinese across transcription, Highlights and summaries. We plan to gradually expand language support. You can still record in any language. Your original audio is saved regardless of language support, so you can always listen back while it’s retained. You control how long to keep it through the audio retention settings.

@LiorAtzmon Does it support Spanish (Mexico) for AI-generated summaries?

@LiorAtzmon Hola, Julio! Spanish (Mexico) isn’t available as a language for AI-generated summaries yet. We’re working on adding more output languages, and your feedback helps us decide what to prioritize next!

Great idea with the app! before I get it, can the voice go straight to the api for transcription? It’s seems to be limited to a few languages, and I wish for more sophisticated translation like mixes of languages.

Thanks! We currently transcribe audio locally on your iPhone, rather than sending it to a transcription API. The local model supports Mandarin, Cantonese, English, Japanese and Korean with automatic language detection. Mixed-language accuracy can vary. Which language combinations would you want to use? That would help us understand the gap.

Vietnamese and Chinese Traditional!

Thanks, that helps! Vietnamese isn’t currently supported by our local transcription model. We’ve noted your need for Vietnamese mixed with Chinese, plus Traditional Chinese text output. That’s useful detail for improving language coverage.

Purchased and testing. I am interested in how it listens to a meeting how well it can summarize.

Thanks for purchasing and testing Auday! With your AI provider connected, it can organize the meeting transcript, generate summaries and identify Highlights. You can also tap your Watch during the meeting to mark a moment you want it to pay special attention to. The original audio remains available for playback while retained. We’d love to hear how it handles your meeting and what you think could be improved!

Can I use a local model for processing via tailscale?

Hi Rolando! Yes—Auday supports custom OpenAI-compatible endpoints. If your self-hosted model exposes a Chat Completions API that your iPhone can reach over Tailscale using HTTPS, you can configure its URL, model name and API key in Auday. Recording, transcription and search already run locally. Additional AI features send relevant text and context directly to your model, while original audio stays on your devices. Which model server are you using?

Does the transcription support Japanese? It's the best when it's supported!

Yes! Japanese transcription is already supported and runs locally on your iPhone. Currently, AI summaries and Highlights are set to output in English or Chinese. We’re prioritizing full Japanese support and will release it within one month at the latest. Thanks for your interest—we’re excited to bring the complete experience to Japanese users!

On fit 5 pro ? 👀

Thanks for asking! Auday currently works with Apple Watch paired to an iPhone, so it isn’t compatible with the Fit 5 Pro. We’ve noted your interest in support for other watches. 🙌

The French language is missing 🇫🇷

We hear you, Alex! French support isn’t available yet. We’re working to expand language support while balancing on-device performance and transcription quality. Your request for French is noted!
