The best moments in my career aren’t about code or projects. They’re when I get to promote people and tell them they’ve leveled up. That’s the real reward.

Back home at my favorite diner to talk with moms about the struggles they’re facing and how we're making life more affordable for them. I believe that government should lift people up and help them get ahead. Our leaders in Washington could learn a thing or two about it.

When you start seeing progress, that’s when the real work begins. A lot of people get a little success and think they’ve made it, so they ease up. That’s exactly when your competition catches up. Stay hungry even when things are going well.

“When times get hard, things get a little tough, they don’t look real good. Man, I can’t see the light. That’s when they’re at their best. They just start digging and put their head down and they’re going to find a way to get out of this. Those are guys we want to be around,” Dan Campbell

🗣 Rio Ferdinand: “You’ve got to give it to Chelsea, yeah. Their owners have come in, they’ve created a new model right, everyone laughed at them, everyone ridiculed them, said, ‘There’s no chance they’re going to finish anywhere, if you were a player you’d never sign for Chelsea’. They’ve swept up some of the best talents in the world…. They’ve gone full throttle with it and backed themselves, and then found a few loopholes, that some people are turning their nose up at, but if there’s a loophole there to be had, it’s there to be had, and they’ve exploited that and that’s the Premier League’s doing, not theirs.”

I do something similar with my code explainers now. At the bottom of an explainer there's an interactive quiz — five questions about the change — and I try to answer them. My rule: I won't send code to others until I can pass the quiz, and I do the same when reviewing others' code. 21/

🚨No Reward for the Real Work : NYPD sources Officers tell me that in the NYPD, the ones doing the real work — making arrests, taking risks, cleaning up the streets — get nothing in return. No promotions. No recognition. Just CCRB complaints and stress. Meanwhile, the ones sitting behind desks, playing politics, and doing the bare minimum move up the ladder fast. As one cop put it: “What’s the point of all of this? Why am I putting my life in danger just to get nothing — no promotion, no reward?” That’s the message being sent: hard work doesn’t pay off anymore. For licensing email viralnewsnyc@gmail.com

So a contractor had a porta-potty delivered to my house while they were working on a project. They wrapped up the project last Friday and it has yet to get picked up. In the meantime, random people keep driving up our private drive to use it. That’s weird, right? Or am I being a butthead about it?

I will always own up to my mistakes when I don’t perform well, and reflect on how to change for the better. That’s called being REAL.

“I enjoy teaching. I don’t get caught up too much in all the stats, all the records and that stuff. You can’t put in the hours that we do and not enjoy it,” Andy Reid Great coaches know the true reward is found in the small, meaningful moments that transcend people.

White people, I just want y’all to know that no matter what the news and media try to tell us. No matter the lies that they spread about y’all, cause I know the truth and that’s the majority of y’all aren’t racist. The majority of y’all are against racism, and y’all Love Beyond Color.
