Incoming Purdue Freshman PG Luke Ertel has the potential to be one of the best PG prospects in next year’s NBA Draft The 6’2 PG was a huge standout in HS where he averaged 18/6/6 in Adidas 3SSB for one of the best teams in Indiana Elite and he was also named the Indiana POTY where he averaged 25/10/7 while shooting 40% from three for a top 20 team nationally. Ertel is one of the best shooters and playmakers in his class who has the ability to shoot off the dribble at an elite level while also having the passing vision and craft to find his teammates at a high level. Ertel excels in the PNR with his ability score on all 3 levels, along with his playmaking. There aren’t many freshmen PG’s with Ertel’s mature level game and feel along with his efficiency as a scorer and playmaker and he has a chance to be one of the most impactful players in the B10 as just a freshman.

Yeah, maybe the format was a set back in the past, but at the same time there’s a lot of positives to it as well. And one of the things that a lot of players kept mentioning is you don’t have a wave weather difference, where you can simply get unlucky and you’re out of contention for that tournament. It’s part of the game, I get it, but it’s something you don’t have to deal with anymore. So that part is a very nice aspect. The team is what really made it for me. Being able to be part of a team, represent a team, play for my teammates, with my teammates and against my teammates, is something that to me that has always been very, very special. When you get a victory to share, it’s always better to have a team to share it with. So it’s what was the most attractive part and when we started discussions it gets to a point where even though I’m ambitious, I’m not greedy. So there’s a give and take and the format is something that I can easily overlook, and I’m pretty sure I can learn to enjoy it, I’ll just have to get used to it, but I’m pretty sure I’ll learn to enjoy it. To be honest, the more I started thinking about it, the more I started thinking about my college days that were 3 day tournaments, 54 holes, and everybody warmed up together for the most part. We’re overly consumed with Skill and not focused enough on what it takes to be a WINNING and PRODUCTIVE PLAYER. The more skilled you are, the better chance of success you have. But it doesn’t matter how skilled you are if you do t have any understanding of the game, your decision making sucks, you’re not resilient or productive. Look at winning College and NBA players…. It’s typically not the ‘skill’ that separates the winners from the losers

Did Lily think life is all about look? “NO! it’s like the least fun part of life! the way you look is the least important part of yourself, the inside of you is the most important. The society have made it so important when it’s never been all that. People can be so much more than their looks, people ARE so much more than their looks… However it’s cute to have like playing with makeup, style, that’s just for your self gratification, it’s not for other people, but sure getting compliments on the way look is always a good time, but at the end of the day, those are for yourself, don’t ever do that for anyone else, it’s never gonna end well, tho in this world is pretty much impossible especially with my job, but we have to try.”

THERE IS NO PERFECT SITUATION We all want our kids to play for the best team, with the best coach, play a ton, and score a ton. That is not reality. There is no perfect situation. Especially when the players are younger, every situation can breed growth, no matter how good or bad it is.. it’s all dependent on how we react to it!!
