The biggest problem with Mumbai's footpaths is माझी Mumbai, आपली BMC itself Entire city is dug up, and footpaths are blocked for reconstruction. There is illegal parking on both sides of the road, forcing pedestrians to walk in the middle of the road. This is Mahavir Nagar, Kandivali West.

The irony is that the 'Roads, Traffic, and Bridges' department of the BMC is also responsible for constructing footpaths. When an agency primarily focused on roads is tasked with footpath construction, the planning will naturally lean towards road development.

Let there be traffic issue. Because unless you create enough noise, these officials don't even pay heed to your grievance.
