During the filming of "The Blair Witch Project" (1999), the directors deliberately gave the actors lesser amount of food each day of shooting, to make it uncomfortable for the actors & also to make their performance believable. They were fed just enough that they would go hungry but not starve. The actors were informed of this before the filming began.
