I love watching the Blue Jays on my deck and the interaction between them and the other birds and squirrels. Blue jays mimic hawk calls to scare off competitors and hoard thousands of acorns each fall, aiding oak tree spread and shaping forests. 😊

I can't get mine to come to me that close but, they recognize me as the one that throws peanuts out and I will have half a dozen come to get them. Cardinals and a lot of other birds as well. The squirrels have to fight them off as they don't eat one at a time, they will suck down up to 6 peanuts at a time and fly off.

Lovely, but can he hit a 100mph fastball out of the park with the bases loaded?

I typed that and looked over, there is a Blue Jay in the bush next to the porch watching me, LOL. I just threw out more peanuts. I live near a lot of woods and don't need to go to a zoo. They are my peace, my yard pets.

How the heck did he catch him? There’s a friendly one that visits me for peanuts and will take one out of my hand, ..but I don’t know about snatching him out of the air. Seems like it would be traumatic for the animal
