Democrats do not hate renaming. They hate when they do not get to do it. The issue is not names. It is control. They spent a decade turning women into “birthing persons,” Hispanics into “Latinx,” and every school and holiday into a lecture. Then Trump renamed Lake Ontario Lake America and they acted like names were suddenly sacred. Bill Maher pointed out the hypocrisy last night on Real Time when he sarcastically said: you cannot go around renaming things to fit a political agenda. Just ask any Latinx birthing person. Maher is right. The outrage was never about respect. It was about who holds the pen. America names its own lakes. That is not a crisis. That is a country that still belongs to itself.

It is still far too many. SAPS says they do all they can to train and protect officers. Today, 12 officers are being remembered, the youngest was just 25.
