This isn't an ability issue, it's an effort issue. Manchester United have a mentality problem. We've seen these players perform at a much higher level, but the intensity, movement, aggression and willingness to battle simply haven't been consistent enough. Right now, it certainly looks like Carrick is losing the players. When the collective effort disappears, the manager is inevitably in serious trouble.

The job he’s doing at Manchester United is starting to convince me more and more every week.
