Ibadan Expressway is trending because till 8am this morning, commuters are still stuck in traffic. Berger on standstill. Because earlier yesterday a truck lost control, crashed into 6 vehicles, triggering a gridlock compounding with the Kara bridge repairs. Making it worse, impatient drivers drove against traffic making evacuation challenging and blocking traffic towards Lagos. Even the route to Ibadan via Ikorodu-Sagamu axis is blocked. Although, LASEMA confirmed there was no casualty, but commuters beg to differ, as some people who got home between 3 a.m. and 6 a.m. consider themselves casualties. As of now, vehicles are still stuck in the traffic. The Lagos-IB traffic volume is high because it is a major route connecting Lagos State to Southwestern Nigeria. The Kara bridge rehabilitation is projected to last for two weeks, till September 22. However, patriotic Nigerians argued that the commuters are lying for engagement.
