The Budweiser Shootout selection show on SPEED

More people showed up to the selection show than will be at Bowman Gray Stadium

@Kenny_Wallace The Speed stage and the whole Speed channel era just hit different.

Used to be lots to do at night during speedweeks. 😢

@NASCAR this is what you need back! What happened?

2007 Bud Shootout: 8.44 million viewers on FOX

To Bill Elliott: “your boy’s gonna want the flag” talking about Chase 🥹

freaking 19 years ago!! Pre ... well *looks around*. but seriously I REALLY miss the SPEED channel. I freaking wish NASCAR would have a dedicated streaming service for racing and content (sides youtube)

Bring this to the all star race. Then use the bracket system. Each row pairing determines eliminations after stage 1 to cut the field in half, same for stage 2, then the third stage is a dash for it all with whoever remains.

@Kenny_Wallace This, this is what we're missing

This was the best way for picking the starting line up

Fun Night..I asked Schrader for a beer..Told him i turn 21 next week 😂 We need to bring back events like this. 🥲

That was a great show- those were the days when they had more fun with the drivers and the fans and they were very creative with what they did to get people to watch - maybe they’ll bring that kind of stuff back next 🏁🏁

It felt like the true lead up to our “super bowl” something @NASCAR and the suits have completely forgot about.

I remember watching this live. I also remember scheduling off work on Thursday before Daytona to watch the duals. I miss those days!

I loved how the guys that weren't 21 had to have their crew chiefs draw for them because God forbid a driver takes a flag out of a bottle.

We used to be a society.

@JohnMoody_

When the Budweiser shootout has Aura

This was peak

Most folks will never know what they took from us

To have this you would need to have drivers not be afraid to be themselves and sponsors don't want that ....

@Kenny_Wallace Thoroughly enjoyed this growing up.

@RKauff7777 What a time….i honestly felt like it would never end…but it did 😞

What a time to be alive

I remember watching this live. We used to kick off the season with so much fanfare.

This is where we lost nascar man. Events like this. Then we doubled down and made cars teams can’t adjust on or cheat with.

Notice how every driver was into it and looked like they wanted to be there? Today’s drivers would look stiff as hell up there and give everyone second hand embarrassment through the Tv

Now everyone in the “clash”

@NASCAR We want MORE!!!

Great times! Grandma had speed channel on her tv and I watched it every time

They need to go back to this

Back in the good ol days ❤️

I want one of those little flags. Someone must have them
