Here’s another bill that attempts to prioritize “descendants of slaves” in licensing applications for various professions.

SB-437 allocates funds to California State University for the purpose of research in genealogy and lineage verification in order to determine who qualifies for reparative benefits.

SB-518 “would establish the Bureau for Descendants of American Slavery within state government, under the control of the director, who would be appointed by the Governor and confirmed by the Senate.”
