Maeve Halligan at the Cambridge Union. Maeve is one of the bravest people I know. The amount The Cambridge University Society of Women has gone through simply to exist, organise, and speak openly is unreal. At the beginning of this year, I could barely exist in Cambridge normally. I was too scared to go into the city centre alone, eat in my dining hall, go to lectures, the gym, anything. I am now almost completely immune to it. A huge part of that is down to Maeve’s strength. To watch her tonight was huge.

Had a bit of fun, dress code and all. with @OliversOxford exploring the friendly rivalry between our two great universities. But beneath the joking lies a serious message: Cambridge (like Oxford and higher education generally) must be better equipped, with resources, funding, and global partnerships, to truly thrive in an increasingly fluid world, one replete with both new opportunities and significant risks. I'm not scared of you, but you're the b*tch!" says a pro-Palestine protestor before aggressively declaring she is "peaceful" to a passer by while she and her friends are unlawfully denying his access to a public sidewalk. This radical protestor was filmed on Harvard Square, Cambridge Massachussetts, on July 12th 2025. Not only was the person filming not wearing any flags, colors or symbols whatsoever, he also did not initiate contact in any way with any of the protesters, nor did he speak to any of them and did not make any faces or gestures. He was merely present on a public sidewalk while filming and taking pictures, as is his right, and he was completely indistinguishable from the general public, but for the fact he is a known member of the local Jewish community. Amazingly, the Cambridge Police department did not clear the sidewalk for him but actually enabled the belligerent protestors.

The Cambridge South station has arrived on time 🚆 Opened to the public last Sunday, the Network Rail station can receive over 1.8 million journeys in a year. This will be invaluable to the Cambridge Biomedical Campus and the University of Cambridge.
