Critics claimed the USA wouldn’t be able to host it successfully and that stadiums would be empty because Americans only watch baseball. Instead, the tournament has delivered packed stadiums, world-class facilities, and an incredible atmosphere. This has been one of the most successful World Cups ever, and the USA has proven itself to be a fantastic host.

This is football and what matters most in this world, family — A Cape Verde player cries with his wife and son after the match vs Argentina. He shouldn't cry. They gave it to the champs. Yeah the cinderella story ended, but people thought it'd end WAY sooner. Kudos to Cabo Verde, their run was legendary and we will never forget. Unfortunately, we won't see them again in 2030. No need for tears. They gave the reigning champions a run for their money. They didn’t win the Cup or the game but they won the respect of the World. They fielded the oldest team in the tournament, besides the legal problems with Mendes, 9 or more of them will retire before 2030. I'm not saying new talent can't impress, I'm just saying it's unlikely. They maximised the use of foreign born players. So, hopefully they will be back in the world cup again. They gave a fantastic account of themselves.

Who remembers the Umbro Cup? Back in 1995, a year before they hosted Euro 96, England held a four-team tournament featuring themselves, Brazil, Sweden and Japan. On 8th June, Elland Road was the venue as England played Sweden. This was a period when, whatever happened and whoever was in the respective teams, 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 just couldn’t beat 🇸🇪. I am genuinely tired of being told to ignore what my own eyes are seeing. Watch both footages and tell me in the face which deserved a RED CARD the most!! Just days ago in the Argentina vs Algeria game, Messi caught an Algerian player from behind so badly with a brutal tackle. No foul, no booking and not even a second glance from the referee as he waved play to continue. Then fast forward to today, a very similar scenario, except there was very small to almost no contact between the Qatar player and the Canada player who got fouled as he made for goal just before the box as shown in the second footage attached Here the referee instantly stops play and shows the Qatar player a yellow card right away which after a VAR review is even upgraded to a straight red card. FIFA are shamelessly rigging this World Cup again for Argentina to win in broad American daylight!!

Well. My team is out. Belgium sent us home 4 to 1, and I have made my peace by eating a waffle out of pure spite. So now I watch the rest for the love of the game. And I have picked a horse. Well. Actually, I picked a longboat. I am riding with Norway. Five and a half million Vikings against the entire world, led by that six foot four Norse god Erling Håland, who already threw Brazil off a cliff on Sunday. Do not act like you are not watching too. Now, some perspective, because people forget how hard this thing is to win. In 96 years, only eight nations have ever lifted the World Cup. Brazil, 5. Germany, 4. Italy, 4. Argentina, 3. Uruguay, 2. France, 2. England, 1. Spain, 1. That is the entire list. And here is the joke nobody says out loud. Every single one is from Europe or South America. Every winner, every finalist, 96 years running, two continents. The Dutch, the Hungarians, the Swedes, the Czechs, all European bridesmaids. Nobody else has ever even reached the final. So let us be honest about what this actually is. The World Cup is a European and South American Cup, and the rest of the planet gets a lovely invitation to come lose in the group stage.
