While producing the beat for Far East Movement’s “Like a G6,” KSHMR (then part of The Cataracs) was crafting a gritty, distorted bassline. As he explains in this clip, he accidentally dragged the wrong instrument—a basic bell melody—into the bass track. The result was the quirky, unforgettable synth lead that ultimately became the song’s defining hook. That one “happy accident” helped turn the track into a 5x platinum global #1, proving that the best creative moments are often the ones you never planned.
