The BC Ostrich Farm had an unwelcomed hay delivery from two semi trucks this evening. Both trucks covered up their plates and DOT numbers. Police then threatened those recording the trucks. It is disturbing that the CFIA is proceeding full speed ahead on the cull perpetration despite the Supreme Court of Canada granting a stay while they decided whether or not to give leave. The CFIA is going out of their way to make sure the ridiculous hay wall structure they're building completely blocks everyone from seeing what's going to take place inside. The CFIA made sure to cover up the farm's pen cameras once they arrived. Canadians have since donated surveillance equipment, including a scissor lift and surveillance tower, to allow the farm owners and the public to see what's happening. And so the government had to make sure no one can see. The government has even gone so far as to order a no fly zone so people can't film anything using drones. I believe the government rightfully thinks the eyes of the world couldn't stomach this. It would bring justified questions and condemnation against the agency and their unscientific pursuit of these ostriches. It is a justified ding to their moral authority, and so they must do everything possible to avert and block eyes. Our rights need to matter in this country or else nothing else does. These birds haven't been tested in almost 300 days and they appear perfectly healthy. The CFIA refuses to test them and have threatened enormous fines for anyone who would try testing them. The CFIA, with the help of the RCMP, seized the Universal Ostrich Farm last week and they were getting ready to cull the flock before the Supreme Court of Canada granted a stay. But they're still preparing anyways. It is morally and logically wrong for the CFIA to approach the Universal Ostrich Farm like this and it is wrong for the RCMP to help them do it.
