Watching these scenes back to back is painful because it's the same place, the same people, but the mood and the circumstances are the entire opposite. In their scene as kids you can see the chandelier in its full glow, vibrant and beautiful. Simpler and happier times.

On the other hand, in their scene as adults, everything is dark, the color red is intense and the chandelier is covered, hidden. Their potential happiness and brighter moments are not lost forever; they're just hidden like the chandelier, even when it's right in front of them.
