Something new: Russian fixed wing-type UAV on fiber-optic cable spotted during flight near the town of Lyman in Ukraine's Donetsk Oblast. On July 6, 2026, the chief technical specialist of the Russian Experimental Design Bureau "Alfa" told TASS that the department has developed a fiber-optic-based analogue of the Molniya-type low-cost strike drone, with a claimed range of around 50 kilometers. It's possible that the same fiber-optic Molniya drone can be seen in the video below.
