The city could fix this in a week. SFMTA & the mayor would rather push vulnerable road users into traffic than show the slightest amount of leadership, so Valencia is without a bike lane during commute hours. SFMTA London Breed

@SFMTA_Muni @LondonBreed They could be making thousands of dollars a day ticketing people in bike lanes on Valencia. It's such an important route for cyclists and so dangerous have to shift suddenly into traffic that doesn't expect you.

There is no second best. To be the optimal medium of exchange and unit of account, it's best to not have to convert between different moneys. And since network effects grow exponentially with the number of users, once a certain user threshold has been passed, any new monetary technology has to be significantly better than the dominant one to replace it.

@SFMTA_Muni @LondonBreed Having to drive around a parked car is mildly annoying. What isn’t mildly annoying is when I was walking down Kearny last week and a cyclist crashed into me (while on the sidewalk) and smashed the shit out of my arm. This happens almost daily.
