The command control and confidence from Cooper Flagg. Quick wide pindown for him. Spacing has both wings clear, zero hesitation to get left. Drives have more force, goes right to the floater.

Anthony Edwards playmaking doesn't always boil down to assists. Seeing how defenses are treating him, making the right read quicker. Pindown gets two on the ball, advance and get a 3. Drive gets more help and it's a kick for a 3.

Cooper Flagg takes a Vlad Klitschko-esque jab to the face and still finishes. Not sure if anyone in the NBA has considered this but, with a couple weeks left, teams may want to consider tanking for this dude.

This has to continue from Carrick. Yes, Sabah are nowhere near a Premier League team, but it’s more about the balance and dynamics. He used the 3-2-5, with the left back providing the width on the left, the left winger in the left half-space, the 10 in the right half-space, and the right winger remaining wide, while the right back takes a more conservative position initially before joining dynamically. It’s exactly the model he had at Middlesbrough. Compare that to the 4-2-4 double false nine approach he has used in the Premier League. It requires a lot more mobility to arrive in positions. You don’t have a fixed 9, both strikers drop into midfield, and with only 4 players in the last line, someone constantly has to arrive. You also lack numbers in the box. Overall, the references end up being too unspecific, and the players lose clarity in execution. They get much more stable references and better balance in the 3-2-5. This has to be the way forward in-possession for United.

If you're still wondering about Jalen Duren, I'll point you to Orlando's defense. Clear as day they are looking to take him off the table. Detroit has him screen for Cade (ORL switches) and then set a pindown for Robinson. Magic don't bite, post up for Duren and the Magic double

Really nice sequence from Veronica Burton here. Goes right to left to set up a drive. Next time down goes right to left, sees the drive is taken away, goes to a shot.
