Ye invited Pusha T to Hawaii to record “Runaway.” They recorded several songs, and West decided to include Pusha T on this track. Around that time Pusha was a new artist signed to West’s label, G.O.O.D. Music.

Runaway is a top 10 Kanye song in my books.❤️ It tells a story about self-reflection and acceptance. The outro expresses his distorted feelings through the use of vocoder effects on his voice, creating a sense of detachment and inner struggle.
