HS2 engineers are ready to start installing the roof beams on a new box structure that will span both carriageways of the M42 near Solihull. 🏗️ This summer, 175 roof beams weighing up to 92 tonnes will be lifted into place, resting on 10-metre-high supporting walls. To install the first beams, the M42 will be closed from 9pm Friday 26 June to 5am Monday 29 June J5A to J7 (northbound) and J6 to J7 (southbound). For more information visit

The first six high-speed platforms, built underground in the station box, are now complete. 🚄 Our construction partner Balfour Beatty Vinci SYSTRA has spent the past year building these platforms, starting with 1.59m-high walls before lifting nearly 2,000 pre-cast concrete slabs into place. NEW: NYC buildings evacuated after workers spot buckling support beams that “are bending like cigarettes.” The Midtown high-rise was evacuated after the support beams buckled and floors started caving in, sending bricks falling from the sky during rush hour. The building is undergoing construction to add 10 floors, converting office space into apartments. Local 638 Steamfitter Cliff Johnsen said, “The I-beams are bending like cigarettes in there, which is super dangerous.” Surrounding buildings were ordered to be evacuated, including a school with over 400 children, due to fears the building might collapse. NYC Mayor Zohran Mamdani stated, “I would say that beyond that, just for those in the immediate area to follow the instructions of those on the ground, we have seen evacuations not only of the building, but of surrounding buildings, as well as a nearby school. And I believe those actions are appropriate at this time.”

JUST IN: Israel will reportedly be using their new "Iron Beam," a laser beam that can take out enemy rockets. Unconfirmed videos are circulating showing these laser beams are now taking out enemy threats. While an interceptor missile from the Iron Dome costs ~$50,000, the laser beam interceptor costs as low as $2 (WSJ). The beam uses 100kW of power, 100 times more power than an average home uses.

DONATION: A member of the public who preferred not to be named has donated toiletries and sugar for 220 inmates at Rundu Police Station. Each inmate will receive a package of essential hygiene items, while the sugar will be used for tea and coffee. According to Rundu Police station commander, Hermine Muranda, the donation forms part of ongoing community support. She added that the owner of Galaxy Mall (known as the Old Mall) has also provided a unit in the mall to help decentralise police services after observing long queues at the station.
