The conventional wisdom is that American manufacturing cannot compete on cost as our labor is too expensive. A factory worker in Ohio will never be as cheap as one in Shenzhen. I'll tell it like it is: they're lying. Robots are getting better and better, and the goal now is not to support human labor, as suggested in the video, but in the long term they will replace human labor. In a market economy, profit is the only thing that counts, whether you like to criticize that or not. The fact is, however, that robots will be cheaper than human labor and will therefore be preferred. Moreover, robots are getting better and better, they will work longer hours than humans, are less prone to errors, do not fall ill and do not need vacations. They are superior to human labor.

And as the months go by, they get more information from employers, from households. And they add that information to get a more accurate picture of what happened in the prior 30 days. So it's actually a statistical process that is designed to in real time, correct, based on new information. It's quite the opposite of what you're suggesting. The revisions are not a cover up.

One thing I always try to do here, is open people’s eyes to the world beyond America’s front gate. America’s fortunes have been declining for a while now, but it’s been masked by the dollar being the world’s reserve currency. Being able to print money covers up a multitude of sins. America’s biggest enemy, is its own arrogance. The attitude to China hasn’t changed in decades.
