The cost-of-living just keeps climbing under Labour. Someone with an average mortgage of around $400,000 will pay $300 per week more in interest if they fix their mortgage now, compared with 18 months ago. That is crippling. Check the thread for our plan.

Oh for heavens sake. This is how it it everywhere in the developed world. This is the pandemic, decades of neo-lib economics & refusal to invest in people. And a refusal to tax profits fairly. We don't need more of your austerity for the poor & bonuses for the rich. Go away.

Is that why you’re going to give investors a tax break on their mortgages while doing nothing for homeowners?

Australians are being crushed by Labor’s cost-of-living crisis. Mortgage repayments are up about $1,760 a month, rents have jumped more than 40 per cent, and another rate rise is looming. My plan is simple: let struggling mortgage holders and renters access three per cent of their own super contributions for up to three years. An average worker could put $44 a week towards their mortgage and save more than $33,000 in interest over the life of the loan. Higher-income households could save even more. This is your money, not the government’s. I trust Australians to use it to keep a roof over their heads. Labor’s reckless spending and net-zero is what's inflationary. Giving families control of their own money is relief.

Labour is tackling the cost of living. Wages have risen faster with Labour in a year than they did in a decade under the Tories. We have overseen six interest rate cuts in a row, and in Spring people will have £150 off of their energy bills.

I want people to realise their dreams of buying their own home. I want them to feel they can get on in life. But right now, those hopes are shattered by the Tory mortgage penalty. Labour will ease the cost of living crisis and help get first time buyers on the ladder.

Biden Introduces Rule to PUNISH Home Buyers With Good Credit "If you have a FICO score of 620, you get a 1.75% discount on your mortgage fees. If you have a 740 score ... you have to pay 1% MORE," reported Tucker Carlson. "And in real life, that means that over the course of a 30-year mortgage for a $400,000 home, that's a swing of more than $14,000."

The brass neck on the Chancellor here is *extraordinary*. Here she is hitting out at the insane untargeted energy price guarantee under Liz Truss that was *adopting Labour Party policy wholesale*. "The previous government pushed up borrowing, interest rates, inflation, and mortgage costs" with the package of support *that Labour demanded of them*. This was Labour Party policy. They only hit out at the Tories for not announcing it sooner!

Great to talk to BBC Newsbeat today in an important week for students across the country. The ambitions of young people shouldn't be held back by the cost of living crisis. My government will deliver a thriving economy, so that with Labour, they aren't.

Plaid aren't telling you the truth about their plan for independence. It would cost a staggering £7,000 per person, per year, in cuts and tax rises. Only Labour is focused on the people's priorities - investing in our communities, creating jobs and cutting the cost of living. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿

INCOME PLUMMETS. MORTGAGE RATES SURGE! Vote red! Add about $49T to the deficit over 10 years, which the Council of Economic Advisers puts at roughly $355K per household: - $22K: lost take-home pay per worker every year if they raise taxes to pay for it - 12%+ 30-year mortgage rates if they borrow it - 130% to 160% higher prices over the decade - 254% federal debt as a share of GDP by 2036, more than DOUBLE today - 39.6% average federal income tax rate, up from 14.1% - 6.9M jobs lost from the 32-hour workweek at the high - 3.3M rental homes lost to rent control DSA also calls for ABOLISHING the police and the prison system, which then costs lives!

Labour have taxed your job, farmers and even schools. Now they are taxing holidays… They’ll always raise your taxes to pay for more benefits. The Conservatives are the only party with a plan to cut taxes, cut welfare and reduce the cost of living for families.

Energy prices are down, interest rates are down... and the cost of the typical new mortgage is down by nearly $3,000 a year. Day by day, we're Making America AFFORDABLE AGAIN.

Bike shop owners: Our health care premiums are going to triple this year, which equates to double the cost of what we pay for our mortgage. Our profit margins are already down. Every 2 to 3 months we get letters from the companies saying we're having another 10% increase, and it just keeps escalating. It's kind of tough.

BREAKING: White House officials are reportedly unhappy about 50-year mortgage idea praised by Trump. This is how stupid the idea is: A 50 year mortgage would have an interest rate that is around 1% higher than a 30-year loan. This means that a $500k loan would pay the following per month if the 30 year rate is 6.5%: 30 Year Loan at 6.5% = $3,160/month 50 Year Loan at 7.5% = $3,201/month So it would be higher monthly payments and you'd pay more than twice the total interest.
