🚨 MJO WATCH: A Major Shift May Be Coming for the Indian Monsoon The latest GFS-based SCORPION analysis shows the main MJO wave has been behaving unusually — almost like a stationary (standing) wave, while also displaying westward propagation. For India’s summer monsoon, this pattern is often associated with a Monsoon Break, suppressing rainfall across large regions. But the key development is what happens next: the trapped MJO signal appears close to breaking free. If this transition continues, it could dramatically reshape monsoon dynamics during the second half of June and into July. 🌧️ A stalled monsoon today doesn't guarantee a weak monsoon tomorrow. All eyes are now on the MJO release phase. #Monsoon #IndiaWeather #MJO #WeatherUpdate #Climate #ElNino

With the opposition bracing to raise several contentious issues in Parliament, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday said there would be no room for chaos or raising voice if discussions in the House are conducted with logic and facts. Addressing reporters ahead of Parliament's Session, Modi also spoke about the impact of the West Asia conflict on the country and India's growing space sector. The prime minister said whether it is the seasonal monsoon or the monsoon session, if both are proactive, they become highly productive and if both are productive, the welfare of the country happens. "Therefore, we pray for just this --that the monsoon remains proactive and the monsoon session remains productive," he said. 📹 PTI #monsoon #monsoonsession #modi #parliament

Three quarters of India's rain falls in four months, June to September. July and August alone bring nearly half the year. The tallest spike is Meghalaya, where one patch of hills averaged more than 12 metres of rain a year. #India #monsoon

Finally, #rain god blessed Delhi: #Monsoon rains soaked the soil. Good or bad, humidity has replaced heat. Friends often complain, "Oh, rain slows the traffic". I answer plainly, "When it rains, we cry. When it doesn't, then also we cry". Deep down, Monsoon rains defines much in #Bangladesh & #India => #people #culture #nature. Gush of rains just don't spark poems or songs. Our aquifers get re-charged, esp, to feed farms when significant part of S. Asian #delta still remains rain-fed. Eventually, politics gets impacted as well. Else, our Met Offices could have cared less about below/above-normal Monsoon projection. Let's celebrate each Monsoon and value #water.

With the arrival of Mumbai's first monsoon showers, Aarey Forest has once again transformed into the stage for one of nature's most remarkable spectacles — the annual mating ritual of the Indian bullfrog. During the breeding season, male Indian bullfrogs change from their usual olive-green colour to a striking bright yellow to attract mates. Wildlife enthusiasts gathered at Aarey Milk Colony after heavy rainfall to witness and document this fascinating seasonal phenomenon, which returns every monsoon.

Tuesday, September 15, 2026, 3:20 PM: A baja low axis has developed in the last 6 to 8 hours. This is a quickly developing situation that will bring very heavy flooding rain to much of Arizona and Utah in the next 24 to 36 hours in combination with the monsoon high axis over Texas and Louisiana. The combination of this will create a significant flash flooding threat for New Mexico, central and southern Arizona, including Phoenix and Tucson, Utah, and Colorado. There’s already a flash flood watch for all of Arizona and spreading into Utah as I speak. #AZwx #Monsoon #ElNiño
