The reality check continues: COVID was a critical thinking test that a huge portion of the country failed. Fear overrode basic questions. Authority was treated as gospel. Dissent was treated as dangerous. Years later the same people who enforced it are still trying to rewrite what happened. The ones who questioned it early were called the problem. A lot of us were not scared into a herd mentality, but forced to adopt it if we wanted to go out in public. I felt the mask mandates and soc.distancing were useless and nonsensical, but I had to comply if I wanted to go to a grocery store, restaurant or anyplace else in public.

I resisted: never got the jab, and didn’t comply unless I needed to wear a mask for optics, then I wore a black one with the Texas flag which carried no filter. Otherwise I enjoyed my quiet time, and watching my savings burning away due to no work for about eight months. Fun.
