This is not accurate at all. This is the romanticized version of working at Blockbuster. I did 7 years in that hell, and 85% of the time was awful.

I stole a trailer tape from Blockbuster when I quit. Still have it. I need to upload it for the world to enjoy.

Blockbuster had the absolute best popcorn ever back then. It was the Blockbuster brand, it was perfect in my opinion. No other brand came close.

I worked in a Hollywood Video store for about a year and a half. Watched so many movies in that stint it was insane.

I've tried to explain this Ghostbusters cartoon to people and nobody remembers it but me. I was obsessed with this show!

I did exactly that at my buddy's independent video store. Real life corrections: Rewinding returns. Calling the late returns. Dealing with the never ending excuses why they were late. Playing Nintendo games during down time, bc we rented games.

Loading the VHS into the player is like music to my ears

I dont know what it is about actually holding a tape or dvd but the only way I can explain it is that you felt like you had more when you were holding it. You held something that was created. Actors, directors,stunts, musicians and the case itself had artwork! Take me back

fake and wrong! first off, no store alarm turned off, did not open the safe box to count the money and fill register, did not log on into the system (old ass 90s software we used until 2010 or so) , he did NOT check if the movies were in their boxes when he chcked the mail box-

I actually used to be a manager at Blockbuster. Store number was 29192, Baptist Church rd, St.Louis, MO Honestly it was one of my favorite jobs I ever had. I loved talking to the people about shows and movies. Especially recommending something and then receive great reviews.

Those dipshits ran out every mom and pop store and changed $1 rentals to $4.99. I waited year after year until they finally went of business like they deserved.

He forgot to login to the system, remove the videos from the accounts that rented them and check-in the videos. However this is awesome and commend the dedication to nostalgia and sharing this video.

Actual daily opening routine: Open up safe, grab blue bank bag from last night and deposit in bank. Check in dropped off movies/games Rewind movies as needed Check to see what snacks need restocking Help first guest, complains about rewind fees, credit account Repeat

I had fond memories being on both sides of the counter at my Blockbuster. It was the one place I worked where I would actually hang out as well. Back in the 90s and 2000s you couldn't keep me out of video store or the movie theater.
